Welcome
Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited to begin this adventure with you. My name is Mrs. Sara Murphy, and I have been teaching since 2009. I was born and raised in California, specifically in Arcadia, and I am an alumni of Holy Angels. Currently, I live in Duarte, CA. I have two children and a French bulldog. I enjoy the beach, reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with my family. I look forward to collaborating with you this year and making it a memorable experience for our students.
Education and Professional Background
I earned a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis on Child Development from California State University, Fullerton, and I also received my Multiple Subject Credential from the same institution. Additionally, I am a certified blended learning Google instructor from Loyola Marymount.
Educational Philosophy
I firmly believe that all children are unique, each possessing talents and strengths that are true gifts from God. In my teaching, I strive to nurture these strengths and encourage students to embrace their unique abilities. Recognizing that all students learn differently, I try to create interactive and creative lessons that accommodate various learning styles.
Additionally, I work to foster a welcoming classroom environment where students feel safe to take academic risks that challenge them and build their confidence.
