Hello, I'm Laura Gomez, but my students call me Ms. Gomez or Ms. Laura. I was born in San Diego and grew up in Ensenada, Mexico. I currently live in Whittier and enjoy traveling, listening to music, hiking, and spending time with my loved ones.
 

My Education and Professional Background 

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Language Teaching from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and a Master's degree in Education and Organizational Development from CETYS University in Tijuana. This is my second year teaching PK through 8th grade at Holy Angels. I began my teaching career as an aide at a rural school in Rancho El Refugio in 2013 and later taught English as a Second Language at various public and private schools in Ensenada, from nursery through college level.

 

My Educational Philosophy 

I’m dedicated to crafting an immersive and interactive learning environment. My approach blends dynamic instruction with real-world applications, enabling students to explore the intricacies of language while fostering confidence and cultural awareness. Cultivating a classroom culture of acceptance and respect for diverse backgrounds is central to my method. Ultimately, I aim to nurture not only skilled language learners but also compassionate and thoughtful global citizens. Supporting my students academic growth and development is truly a privilege.
