Welcome!
Hi, I'm Mrs. Galvez, welcome to Science. I have six years in education and joined Holy Angels in 2021. I am a Southern California native and live with my husband, two young adults (high schooler and college student), and our friendly dog, Basil.
Education and Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where I majored in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biology. One of my memorable takeaways from my time in school was spending a summer in Costa Rica learning about the vast biodiversity in the cloud rainforest. I have private industry experience (in a pharmaceutical setting) and have over 13 years of working with youth from grades K - 12 through scouting. I am currently working toward my Masters in Teaching at the University of La Verne.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that learning science should be fun and hands on. My goal is for students to appreciate science and our natural world. As a teacher I aim to encourage students' natural curiosity and a lifelong love of learning and asking questions to be well-informed world citizens.
