Welcome!
Welcome to 6th Grade! Get ready to have a great year!
Hello, my name is Mrs. Dora Barraza. I have been teaching for more than 20 years. Three of the 20+ years were in the public school system and 19 in the Catholic Education. I grew up in El Paso, Texas. My family and I moved to California in 2004. I currently live in Glendora and enjoy reading, listening to music, gardening and spending time with my family.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso. I completed my post-baccalaureate graduate program from the College of Education also at The University of Texas at El Paso. My 19-year Catholic teaching career began in California. In California I have taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Religion and Spanish.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that children are a gift from God and they possess diverse talents, potential, and endless capabilities. I consider it a privilege and blessing to help facilitate their learning and academic growth. I believe students learn in their own way and style. I strive to provide a safe, spiritual, and nurturing environment where they can experience success.
